This 43 minutes will give you a great perspective on the region through the eyes of a winemaker. Merf tells us all about the differences between the appellations, the grapes that thrive in the region, and why Washington is so unique. We hit on everything from soil, to wildlife, to distribution of Washington wines.
Reviews of the wines will be posted up soon so you can get to see what I thought of Merf's creations as well.

It was great post.. It was more useful for us.
ReplyDeleteHi, I saw your comments on Ken's blog and just wanted to say that I'm Jewish and hail from Walla Walla. That said, I look forward to digesting your blog.
ReplyDeleteWait, so are you the one Jew he was talking about? The three of us could have taken the town by storm : )
ReplyDeleteWe should have set up that pop up latke stand...Ruth Kupperberg's (my late grandma) recipe would have made us a ton!
Thanks for stopping by the blog/podcast. I loved Walla Walla and have many more thoughts to post. What do you do there? Are you in the wine biz?
Great to connect with a fellow MOT. We'll grab a glass next time I'm in town!

I live in the Seattle area now with my wife and Golden Retriever!
ReplyDeleteMy family was in the Scrap metal and industrial supply business. My Dad sold the business and my brother still works there. He is the last Barer left in town. I'm ups for sharing a glass, perhaps as you check out Woodinville wineries.
